When buyers ask for a red LED strip, the request may sound simple. In practice, different red wavelengths can create a very different visual result. For signage, decorative lighting, retail displays and special project applications, confirming the wavelength before production is an important step.
Common Red LED Strip Wavelengths
Red LED strips are usually described by wavelength in nanometers. The most common ranges are standard red and deep red.
- 620-630nm red: a bright visual red commonly used for signage, decoration, accent lighting and commercial displays.
- 630-640nm red: slightly deeper than standard red, used when a warmer or stronger red tone is required.
- 660nm deep red: often selected for more specialized applications where deep red output is required.
Which Red Is Better for Commercial Projects?
For most decorative, architectural and signage projects, 620-630nm red is a practical choice because it appears bright to the human eye and is widely available. It is suitable for indoor LED strip projects, channel letters, shelves, bars, exhibition booths and general linear lighting effects.
If the customer requires a deeper red tone, sample confirmation is recommended. Red color perception can change depending on diffuser material, installation distance, surface color and ambient lighting.
12V or 24V Red LED Strip?
Both 12V and 24V red LED strips are available. For short sections and small projects, 12V may be acceptable. For commercial projects and longer runs, 24V is often easier to design because it helps reduce current and voltage drop.
If a project asks for long continuous rolls such as 50m or 100m, the roll can be supplied for packing, but the installation should still be powered in planned sections. This helps keep brightness consistent and protects the product from overheating or overloading.
